That was how ACORN were introduced in a piece on BBC2’s Victoria Derbyshire Show yesterday, who ran a great feature on the growth of ACORN up and down the country. See the videos here:

Part one, an action-packed, fifteen minute feature unmasked the human stories at the heart of the housing crisis, and ACORN’s community-powered response.

It showed ACORNs taking-on slum landlords in Bristol, bullying landlords in Sheffield, and members growing the movement up and down the country, one door knock at a time.

It was ACORNS first major national TV coverage, showing that, not only is the union winning battles, but also raising the, confidence, hope and expectations of UK tenants.

Later in the programme Sheffield member Maryam Wright and National Organiser Stuart Melvin went up against a landlord lobbyist in a live debate.
